About the Author

As a new real estate agent in the South West of Western Australia, I set out to learn everything I could about selling homes—and quickly noticed something unsettling.

While some home owners were achieving exceptional results, others were quietly leaving tens of thousands of dollars on the table. The advice they received often conflicted. People were being told, “Don’t worry about fixing that—it won’t make a difference to the result,” yet the outcomes seemed to contradict the advice.

Curious, I decided to test it...

One client invested in simple cosmetic improvements and followed a counter-intuitive marketing strategy. The result was a sale $80,000 above her expectations and a suburb record (in a suburb with a relatively low median value for the greater area).

Months later, we repeated the process with her principal residence, achieving another suburb record in a different suburb, with $60,000 over the asking price.

A third time with another client in a higher-end suburb, we achieved a suburb record which was $200,000 over the online valuation. Not 20K over but 200K over the online valuation and their "sell today" price.

It became clear that these results weren’t just about the market—they were about strategy.

These experiences along with many others, led me to write this book. My goal is to help homeowners avoid underselling and navigate the sales process with clarity and confidence.
